The 2nd Exam

Earth year: 3013

Day: 101

Planet: Alcatraz

As the five were getting off the spaceship, the man said to them, “You’re 1 in 100 billion. One million examinees that passed the first exam, best of luck,” he then swung the door shut and spaceship sped back through the wormhole.

As the five turned their face to the field where everyone was gathered, they noticed how beautiful the expanse before them was. It was fall here, and the purple plants were blooming into huge flowers as wide as your arm. As it turned out these purple plants were the intelligent beings on this planet. They enjoyed sitting there in the sun, but more than once they had to use the pedals (which were ultra sharp) as blades. As the 5 watched a man got to close and cut himself. Although nobody else could here it, Rosaharn heard it laughing at the stupid man. Siegel was thinking of ways to utilize these ultra sharp leaves. Runeheld was laughing at the stupid man too. He didn’t know that the leaves were poisoned and that the man would die soon afterwards, Ava hadn’t noticed. She was looking more at the sky, where the clouds were thick enough that you couldn’t tell which cloud the planet’s star was behind. She knew it was about to rain and that because of this planets atmosphere, a lightning strike would cause an explosion. Boy did she want to see that. Alexander, was once again reading his book, already tired of the scene before him. Then, a voice interrupted his reading with, “You are now on Alcatraz. This planet is in system Dagoba and the galaxy Funscueleuce. Damn, I can never pronounce that. Its days are about a quarter as long then on most planets. This lovely place is a dumping for criminals. Any ways, the second exam is a game of hide & seek. you need to find a white, gray and black stick from a criminal on the planet, you have just 1 day,” it cut off.

Wait,” the voice said, “you must stay with your group of 5, if any one of you dies, and then the whole team loses. Also, if any of you would like to leave then come to the center and you will be transported back to your respective planets.” Around 500,000 went forward and were teleported away. “Let the games begin.”

Let’s go this way,” Ava said.

Whatever,” they all mumbled.

Its quiet, too quiet,” Runeheld said.

It is plenty noisy you know,” Ava commented.

I know, I've just have always wanted to say that.”

And just why is that?” Asked Siegel. “ Is it to show how stupid you are?”

No its not,” Runeheld replied.

It was rhetorical,” Siegel muttered

As they walked on, Alexander tripped on a stick in the center of the forest. This caused a shock wave sending the 5 flying in different directions.

Siegel landed softly on the ground. Then Farcel came out from tree and attacked Siegel. Siegel dodged it and came and attacked Farcel from above. Farcel easily dodged the near supersonic speed of Siegel’s jab which was meant to hit the pressure point on the arm

The sword he had pulled out of his sheath changed magically into a gun. Siegel jumped over the bullets his opponent had shot. When Siegel’s feet hit the ground he realized that he was standing on a sheath of leaves over a large pit. Siegel fell a little, but caught the blanket and used the blanket of leaves a something to jump out of the hole. When he had gained this speed, Siegel had never guessed it would come in so handy. When he landed again he felt himself pushing down a wire. He didn’t know what it was so he flash jumped to Farcel and attacked him again. He missed, but as he turned around he saw 15 spikes come from every direction that would pierce whatever was inside of it where he just was.

Siegel attacked and Farcel dodged to the right. Siegel attacked the man again and again and each time he dodged to the right. The plan that had formed in Siegel’s head was simple, but then Siegel tripped and fell into the hole. Farcel looked over the edge and said, “Pitiful fool.” As he turned Siegel attacked him again and once again he dodged to the right, and fell into the hole he had created. Siegel's plan was simple enough. It was to fall in, then flash jump to the surface, attack Farcel and make him dodge and fall in.

A platform slid out and caught him. Farcel looked at Siegel and threw him the three sticks. Siegel turned around and left.

Behind Siegel, Farcel said, “sorry master,” and fell to his death.

Note: Farcel was impressed by such a mastery of flash jumping at such a young age. What Farcel didn’t know is why Siegel was so good at flash jumping. The answer was back on Earth, seven years ago.

The old man who had walked into Siegel’s life seven years ago was quite possibly the strangest man Siegel had ever met. He had met him on the day school had ended for Siegel. This was when he was six. School had ended for Siegel because Siegel had published something that was Nobel prize material. It showed them he had a true mastery of physics and mathematics, showing this by publishing the smallest nanobot. He was preparing his teleporter to take him home, when Matt recognized him and started asking him questions. They were about his nanobots, how they worked, and if it was possible to make them even smaller. Siegel answered each question in depth and enthusiastically. Matt managed to get the subject from nanobots to people, then from people to Siegel. After his last question for Siegel, he told himself that he would teach him flash jumping.

Matt abruptly asked Siegel, “Can I teach you something?”

It depends.”

On what?”

Will it be interesting?”

Oh yes.”

Then I’m in, I got nothing better to do.”

Siegel learned flash jumping and the old man learned about nanobots. Although Siegel didn’t know it, after one month he was better than his master, not in knowledge, but in skill. Siegel learned faster than the man could teach. Eventually, The man died of natural causes. At his deathbed he told Siegel that he was better than Matt could ever hope to be.

Rosaharn skidded back and stopped herself. Martel jumped out and attacked her with a simple sword. Rosaharn scoffed at him, dodged and attacked with her whip.

Martel didn’t bother to dodge it, he just caught it, and he sent enough electricity back through it to kill an elephant. Rosaharn screamed out in pain. Actually it was the whip, but because of living coordination she felt it too. Martel laughed and enjoyed her pain. Martel felt a slight tug on the whip. When he opened his eyes he saw her smiling and sending out an ink blade. This was the last thing Martel ever saw. “ Arrogant fool,” she said as she took his sticks.

Note: Rosaharn learned coordination from a book called The Druid. It showed her how to living coordinate, the ability to connect yourself mentally with any living material. This had shown her how to use it, from the most simple uses, being able to hear it to being able to control it to amping its power. From this book Rosaharn got the habit of always calling an animal he or she, and it always had angered her the fact people called animals things and its.

When Runeheld landed a woman named Courtney was slaughtering examinees. She said, “Be with you in a moment.” Runeheld would have thought it comical if it was on TV, however, this wasn’t TV by any stretch of his imagination.

S-stop,” he cried. She didn’t look like she noticed. Pulling himself a together a little he screamed, “STOP NOW.” She turned toward him a little and smiled, a horrible deathly smile.

Oh I remember you, you survived my rampage in, oh where was it again?”

Runeheld remembered where, it was in Tokyo. He remembered who, it was her. He remembered what, a mass murder. He remembered when, it was in May 10, 3006. He remembered how, with a simple knife across the throat. 129,679 people died by that knife. What he could never remember was why, why did it happen, and why was he still alive?

He went into a rampage, at the end he found splattered guts and blood and flesh and brains of that woman everywhere. he looked in his hand where his blue box was. It was a small box that had no special characteristics, but the fact the inside was splattered with blood and guts. Runeheld had called it the shrinking box. It could expand to 15m x 15m, close and shrink to 1cm x 1cm. He used it to contain water and press coal into diamond, but now it had been used to kill. It had surrounded her and had shrunk to 1cm x 1cm., Then it had spewed her out as a cube of material and she exploded out ward in the spray of blood, guts, flesh and organs. He had mentally controlled the box by something called object coordination. He cursed himself for using it to kill

She’s dead, Runeheld thought, refusing to believe he had done what could never be forgiven.

He had killed her.

Ѳ Ѳ Ѳ

Runeheld had been using object coordination, the ability to meantally control objects, since seven years ago, when he was six, right after he finished school. The reason he managed to graduate school after two years was just to not let Siegel get ahead of him. After that he decided he was good enough without beating Siegel. Anyways, he learned it from a man whom he met while he was wandering throughout the city. The guy had looked at him and said, “Yes, you could coordinate.”

What?” Runeheld said.

Its called coordination.”

You mean hand-eye coordination?”

No. I mean item coordination. It’s where you link your mind to an object so you can control it at will.”

OOOO, fun.”

Yes it is little boy. What is your name?”

Mine’s Runeheld, what’s yours?”

Jack.”

Will you teach me already?” Runeheld paused, “ I mean if you have time.”

Yes Runeheld.”

After this they became friends. They were practically inseparable, even though Jack was 32, and Runeheld only 6. Jack taught Runeheld coordination and Runeheld looked up to Jack. That is, until May 10, 3006, that’s when it all changed.

Master,” Runeheld said. Runeheld had chosen to do this and it had always bothered Jack.

Yes?”

Where did you learn coordination?”

OHH, if only this boy knew that I was his student once. “From a teacher.”

Which one?”

Well you se-,” his voice broke off as blood spouted out of his jugular. Runeheld was horrified at what happened. “Runeheld”, Jack gasped, “it was you, my teacher it was you-,” and he died, with little Runeheld holding his hand. Ever since then Runeheld has considered killing unforgivable.

Little did Runeheld know that Jack had faked his own death. He didn’t learn this until years later that Runeheld would have discovered it himself, without Jack’s help.

The blast hadn’t even moved Ava, but someone attacked her anyways. A boulder fell down and she dodged it and ran straight into a man. His sword was already coming down, but she looked him in the eye and said, “You’re not going to do that.”

When she looked at him he felt her going through his thoughts. HE screamed out in pain and clutched his head. When he did this he fell to his knees and dropped his sword. She reached down and took the sticks from his belt and said, “Its called soul rummaging.”

She walked away, unbeknownst to her, he fell on his sword to end his pain. She just kept walking from the corpse.

Ѳ Ѳ Ѳ

Note: Ava, like Rosaharn learned how to run through someone's thoughts in a very painful manner, from a book. The book was called Secrets of the Soul. It taught her how to soul rummage and how to astral project her spirit, while still having control of her body. This book was incredibly old, from somewhere in the 21st century. She still carries the book around with her.

Alexander got up and dusted himself off and said, “Namfer, come on out.” Right after he said that Namfer came out and handed him the needed sticks. Namfer said, “ if you mess up, he’ll kill you himself, got it.”

What did he train me for doofus. I’m the Maryxian{An ancient race} who needs to infiltrate the Academy, I got that a long time ago.”

Also, I have an IQ of 127, don’t call me a doofus. Good bye,” Namfer said curtly.

Please let them live.”

Hm?” Namfer stopped.

Oh it’s nothing.”

Thought so.”

Damn,” Alexander muttered.

Also, Quilson,” Namfer was obviously talking about Alexander, “you haven’t forgotten your name, right?”

No I have not,” as he thought this he remembered his name’s meaning. In alien{An ancient race that was the rivals of the Maryxians} it meant traitor, in Maryxian, it meant savior. Quilson still didn’t know which one applied to him more.

Ѳ Ѳ Ѳ

Runeheld, Runeheld,” Siegel called. “Hey,” seeing Runeheld on the ground, “You okay?”

Runeheld didn’t respond.

Siegel ran over to him and made sure he was still alive. He was. Rune held then grabbed Siegel and Screamed, “She’s Dead.”

People die Runeheld.”

I killed her.”

This fact hit Siegel like a brick. Runeheld, had killed somebody? After that day in 3006, I’m surprised. He’s gonna be in even worse shape then I was. Much worse. I couldn’t think straight for a week, and I wouldn’t eat for three days.

Siegel asked, “ who was it?”

Courtney.”

Who the h-,” Siegel realized who it was, it was the mass murderer. the one who killed Jack. “She deserved it.”

B-but.”

PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER. She deserved it. It took me a week to get over it when I killed somebody, but we don’t have that kind of time,” Siegel cried angrily. He then moved Runeheld’s face until it faced him. He slapped him to his senses.

Thanks, I needed that,” Runeheld said, slowly pulling himself together.

The two headed back to the main part where they were blown away from.

Back at the spaceport around 700 examinees are gathered. These examinees included the Earthlings as a voice barked out, “END. Anybody who comes after right now is disqualified. Congratulations to the 765 of you survived. Your groups are now disbanded. You will be given an energy pill to keep you alive and well. Open wormhole to the third exam.

Ѳ Ѳ Ѳ

Alcatraz officials looked down onto the bodies of their 4 highest security prisoners. They had all been laid out on the bottom of Farcel's pit. They were all dead and their deaths were directly linked to the Earthlings. “Who the hell could have done this?”
